The GIS Analyst is responsible for the Outside Plant Records. The primary focus is documenting and maintaining records of FastBridge Fiber’s OSP facilities within the GIS system in accordance with standard operating procedures. This includes address management and all the OSP infrastructure and fiber cabling, as well as how the networks are connected and routed.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and improve the customer experience as it relates to GIS mapping and OSP records management
  • Responsible for workload management, planning, status reports, coordinating workflow, and records posting schedules
  • Quality Control associated with the records
  • Work cross functionally with multiple departments to coordinate GIS/CAD requirements
  • Assist with the implementation of new processes, systems, and technology
  • Manage job queues for records posting, workprint creation, data corrections, and land base mapping additions and updates
  • Management of both internal and external resources where applicable
  • Establish and ensure a quality records management process
  • Occasional travel may be required

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud database management and query languages
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
  • Ability to supervise and motivate others
  • Must be flexible and assertive and able to lead through change
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be able to handle conflict, work easily with others and be a team player
  • Strong technical aptitude including the ability to quickly learn applications, systems, policies and procedures
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to effectively lead and provide managerial insight and direction to a technically oriented workforce dealing with multiple projects driven by diverse customer needs
  • Knowledge of telecom products and services a plus
  • Experience with OSP Engineering print creation using MicroStation, AutoCAD, G/Technology, ArcGIS Desktop or Pro, or other similar applications
  • Familiarity with telecom fiber management software is a plus

Education & Experience

  • College degree, in an applicable field preferred
  • Industry and GIS/CAD specific certifications and training preferred
  • 5+ years of GIS/AutoCAD/Network documentation system experience
  • 2+ years demonstrated experience with project management
  • 2+ years demonstrated outstanding leadership skills
