Commonly Asked Questions
Construction
Why did you choose to build in my area?
Because we believe you deserve the best internet, and fiber is simply the best! Up until now your only choices for internet can’t keep up with evolving technology and bandwidth demands. Fiber internet sets you up for life!
Why do certain coverage areas stop short at different streets, addresses, and parts of neighborhoods?
While our goal is to expand service as broadly as possible, sometimes we hit roadblocks. Some areas like certain streets or parts of neighborhoods face factors like permitting requirements, complex engineering, and existing infrastructure that delay or even prevent service expansion to specific homes. While these challenges may put certain areas on hold, we’re always evaluating our network and may expand coverage in the future!
Will FastBridge Fiber restore my property to the way it was before construction started?
We will do our best to avoid damage to your property. We are committed to cleaning up and restoring the property to how we found it as quickly as possible once construction is complete. Please let us know if that is not the case by sending an email to us at support@fastbridgefiber.com or calling 800.661.0232 and we’ll do our best to make things right!
Note: Weather may delay restoration.
Can I sign up for service even if the construction crews are still working in my neighborhood?
When we’re close to servicing in your neighborhood, we’ll start accepting orders. Check your address here to see the status!
Why are there flags in my yard and what does it mean?
If you see utility flags in your yard, it means underground lines have been marked to prevent damage to utility lines such as gas lines during digging. Please do not remove the markings as they help ensure a smooth and safe installation process. If fiber is coming to your area, the flags are a sign that our high-speed internet is on its way!
Learn more about what different utility flags and markings mean here.
Contract Buyout
How can I find my Early Termination Fee (ETF)?
Contact your current provider to find your remaining contract balance.
Can I combine the contract buyout benefit with any other promotion?
We have created a generous Contract Buyout Program. As much as we love saving you money, our Contract Buyout Program cannot be stacked with any other promotions we offer.
Will I be required to provide proof of my ETF amount?
Yes, we require that you submit the documentation from your current provider within 60 days of your installation.
How will FastBridge Fiber send the Contract Buyout payment amount?
Once you complete the necessary form and schedule your installation, credit will be issued by FastBridge Fiber and applied to the customer’s account at the time of installation.
What if my Early Termination Fee is more than $500?
Our Contract Buyout Program will only cover up to $500 of your ETF.
Streaming
Does FastBridge Fiber offer streaming services?
No, BUT we are partnered with MyBundle to help you pick the streaming services that best fit you and your interests! MyBundle offers a streaming solution to get YOU the most bang for your buck!
Will I really save money by switching from cable internet + TV to fiber internet service + live TV streaming?
Have you looked at your cable bill lately? You may be surprised at how much you’re being charged for your cable bundle with internet and TV service (and all those hidden charges for things like equipment). It’s probably crept up to well over $200/month.
Switch to FastBridge Fiber internet, add a live TV streaming service, and you’ll save an average of $100/month overall.
Our partners at MyBundle can show you the right streaming service for you. See their recommendations here.
What is MyBundle and how does it work?
MyBundle’s suite of free tools helps eliminate the work needed to find streaming services with the content you actually want.
Try the MyBundle streaming selection tool and see their recommendations. Then go to the streaming marketplace and see the prices and deals you can get. It’s easy, and these tools will save you time and money!

Do I need any extra devices to start streaming content?
Nothing bulky, we can promise you that! All you need is either a smart TV or streaming device. If you need help setting up a streaming device, we have a streaming specialist who can guide you in the right direction.
Will I have a familiar channel guide with all my favorite channels on my live TV streaming service?
If you haven’t looked at streaming services before, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to see how much it looks and feels like the guide you’re used to – but it’s better.
Mark your favorite channels to create the guide you want. Depending on the streaming service, you may be able to put channels in your preferred order.
To top it all off, many streaming services offer unlimited DVR recording time. Unlimited! So go ahead – cut the cord!
Remember when you took the plunge and got your first smart phone? Yeah…it’s like that. Trust us. You won’t regret it!
What's the difference between streaming TV on the internet and watching it over cable?
Streaming offers more flexibility. So, you can watch on any device, anywhere you are connected to the internet, without being tied to one TV or location!
I know I need fiber internet, but can I still keep my cable TV service?
You don’t have to cut the cord if you’re not ready. But remember – you’ll keep all the high charges that go along with cable TV service.
Once you upgrade your internet to fiber we encourage you to test out various streaming platforms to get a feel for how they work (there are a lot of free trials out there). You’ll quickly realize you don’t need cable service to watch your channels and we think you’ll love all the user-friendly features they offer.
Try MyBundle’s tool to find the right streaming services for your viewing preferences along with the associated costs (and deals!).
What if I want to continue watching my local news stations that cable TV provides?
You don’t need cable to watch local news! Streaming services like YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, and DIRECTV Stream offer local channels based on your ZIP code. Many news stations also have free apps or websites with live streaming.

What services does FastBridge Fiber offer?
We sell internet service plain and simple. But unlike most other internet providers you’ve used we have a 100% fiber-optic network. Once you switch to fiber, you’ll be set for life. Fiber is the future of technology.
What exactly is fiber-optic internet and why is it better than cable?
Fiber-optic internet transmits data as light through glass strands, making it faster and more reliable than cable, which uses copper wires. It offers higher speeds, lower latency, and a stronger connection, even during peak hours, making it perfect for streaming, gaming, and working from home.
What if I need customer support in Spanish?

Technical Questions
Who are FastBridge Fiber’s upstream providers?
We connect to multiple upstream providers to ensure minimal disruptions to your service. We current connect to two Tier 1 providers, Lumen and Cognet in geographically diverse locations. These locations and connection links are constantly monitored and reviewed to ensure enough available bandwidth for our peak usage as our customer base grows and our needs evolve.
What kind of IP is provided with FastBridge Fiber’s standard package?
We provide a private dynamic IP with our standard package. The technology used is referred to as carrier-grade network address translation or CGNAT. So, port forwarding, use of some VPNs, remote access to your network, and devices like non-cloud-hosted cameras, computers/servers for “home lab,” etc., are affected by carrier-grade NAT. For an additional $10/month, we provide a public static IP that is not shared. Private IPs are not internet-facing. They are only used for communication within an isolated or “private” network, such as our core and your home network. A public IP is internet-facing, and the end user has more control and almost no restrictions that are associated with private IPs.
What does it mean for fiber internet to have symmetrical speeds?
Symmetrical speeds mean your upload speeds are just as fast as your downloads! Unlike cable, which slows down when you send files or video chat, fiber lets you do everything stream, work, game, and share at full speed with no lags or limits. We deploy a technology called XGS-PON which can provide up to 10Gbps of upload and download speeds to each subscriber.
